1. What is Expert Travel Answers (ETA)?
ETA is a travel information site where travelers are able to ask a travel-related question and view answers from qualified, trusted travel experts.
2. Why are travel answers from ETA better than those from general-purpose question-and-answer (Q&A) sites?
ETA provides better information because we're different in two groundbreaking ways:
  1. Qualified experts. Rather than letting just anyone answer your questions, ETA experts have to apply and be accepted based on their experience in the travel industry or as travelers.
  2. Real names of all experts. All ETA experts put their real names and affiliations on all of their answers--there's no "stealth marketing" here. You know exactly who you're dealing with and why they're an expert.
3. Why do real travel industry experts spend time answering my questions?
In travel planning, information is critical. You want to deal with people who have the expertise to help you making good decisions about your trip.

ETA provides a way for experts to help answer your questions while demonstrating their knowledge of the world and destinations. When it comes time for you to choose a travel agent, hotel company, or travel blog to read, you'll know who has the expertise to help make your travel plans a success.

As answers to your questions will not only be seen by you, they will be accessible on the web for years to come as others search for similar information. ETA attracts the experts with the most knowledge by giving them real-world incentive to share it.

4. Do I need an account to ask questions?
No. You can ask questions anonymously without an account. However, creating an account is a very quick process and it does provide some benefits--for example, you can choose to receive e-mail notifications when your questions are answered. You can create an account here.
5. I asked a question. Why don't I see it on the web site?
Questions are available to experts immediately after they are submitted. However, we don't display them to the general public until they have at least one answer from an expert. This helps us weed out any online spam.
6. How do I know when my question has been answered?
If you will take a few moments to set up an account (it really is a quick process), we will send you e-mail alerts each time one of your questions is answered. It's very easy to turn off alerts once you're no longer interested.
7. What do I do if I can't find the category that I want?
Just Contact Us and let us know what category you're looking for. We can point you toward the right category if it already exists, or create it for you if it doesn't.
