Experts receive:
  • 5 points per answer given
  • 2 points each thumbs up received
  • 3 points each question asked
Expert Levels are as follows:
  • Level 1: 0 to 149 points
  • Level 2: 150-299
  • Level 3: 300-499
  • Level 4: 501-999
  • Level 5: 1,000-1,999
  • Level 6: 2,000-3,999
  • Level 7: 4,000-5,999
  • Additional level increase in 2,000 point bands with no limit.

They can also create accounts if they would like to be notified when new answers to their questions become available. Users can view answers trusted from travel experts, as well as read detailed profile information including all certifications, awards, industry association memberships, and other credentials to evaluate the sources. The result is solid information to assist in their trip planning process.


Experts. Travel industry professionals, travel organizations, travel writers, travel media, and experienced travelers may also participate at no charge. They begin by applying to ETA to be experts and answer questions on the site. If accepted, they create an online profile including their real names, web addresses, etc. to highlight there experience and expertise, including all certifications, awards, industry association memberships, and other credentials. Each question they answer will be a sign-post letting anyone searching for similar information know of their expertise. Experts can also use ETA can also feed their social media sites with answers on topics of relevance to their readers/followers, leveraging their ETA efforts to keep their name in the minds of readers/customers.
